اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ آدَمَ صَفْوَةِ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `ala adama safwati allahi

Peace be upon Adam the choice of Allah.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ نَبِيِّ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `ala nuhin nabiyyi allahi

Peace be upon Noah the prophet of Allah.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلِ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `ala ibrahima khalili allahi

Peace be upon Abraham the friend of Allah.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ كَلِيمِ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `ala musa kalimi allahi

Peace be upon Moses the spoken by Allah.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ عِيسَىٰ رُوحِ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu ala isa ruhi allahi

Peace be upon Jesus the spirit of Allah.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `alayka ya rasula allahi

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s Messenger.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَيْرَ خَلْقِ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `alayka ya khayra khalqi allahi

Peace be upon you, O Allah’s best creature.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا صَفِيَّ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `alayka ya safiyya allahi

Peace be upon you, O elite of Allah.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu alayka ya muhammada bna abdillahi

Peace be upon you, O Muhammad the son of `Abdullah

---

خَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّينَ

khatama alnnabiyyina

and the seal of the Prophets.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَمِيرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

alssalamu `alayka ya amira almu'minina

Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful

---

عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ

`aliyya bna abi talibin

`Ali the son of Abu-Talib

---

وَصِيَّ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ

wasiyya rasuli allahi

and the successor of Allah’s Messenger.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا فَاطِمَةُ

alssalamu `alayki ya fatimatu

Peace be upon you, O Fatimah

---

سَيِّدَةَ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

sayyidata nisa'i al`alamina

the doyenne of the women of the worlds.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمَا يَا سِبْطَيِ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ

alssalamu `alaykuma ya sibtay alrrahmati

Peace be upon both of you, O grandsons of the Mercy

---

وَسَيَّدَيْ شَبَابِ أَهْلِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ

wa sayyiday shababi ahli aljannati

and two chiefs of the youth of Paradise.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلِيُّ بْنَ ٱلْحُسَيْنِ

alssalamu alayka ya aliyyu bna alhusayni

Peace be upon you, O `Ali the son of al-Husayn,

---

سَيِّدَ ٱلْعَابِدِينَ وَقُرَّةَ عَيْنِ ٱلنَّاظِرِينَ

sayyida alabidina wa qurrata ayni alnnazirina

the chief of the worshippers and the delight of the eye of all seers.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

alssalamu alayka ya muhammadu bna aliyyin

Peace be upon you, O Muhammad the son of `Ali,

---

بَاقِرَ ٱلْعِلْمِ بَعْدَ ٱلنَّبِيِّ

baqira alilmi bada alnnabiyyi

the splitter of knowledge after the Prophet.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا جَعْفَرُ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ

alssalamu alayka ya jafaru bna muhammadin

Peace be upon you, O Ja`far the son of Muhammad,

---

ٱلصَادِقُ ٱلْبَارُّ ٱلأَمِينَ

alssadiqu albarru al-aminu

the veracious, dutiful, and honest.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُوسَىٰ بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ

alssalamu alayka ya musa bna jafarin

Peace be upon you, O Musa the son of Ja`far,

---

ٱلطَّاهِرُ ٱلْطُّهْرُ

alttahiru alttuhru

the immaculate and ever-pure.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُوسَىٰ

alssalamu alayka ya aliyyu bna musa

Peace be upon you, O `Ali the son of Musa,

---

ٱلرِّضَا ٱلْمُرْتَضَىٰ

alrrida almurtada

the well-pleased and well-contented.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ ٱلتَّقِيُّ

alssalamu alayka ya muhammadu bna aliyyin alttaqiyyu

Peace be upon you, O Muhammad the son of `Ali, the pious.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا عَلِيُّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ

alssalamu alayka ya aliyyu bna muhammadin

Peace be upon you, O `Ali the son of Muhammad,

---

ٱلنَّقِيُّ ٱلنَّاصِحَ ٱلْأَمِينُ

alnnaqiyyu alnnasihu al-aminu

the immaculate, sincere, and honest.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَسَنُ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ

alssalamu alayka ya hasanu bna aliyyin

Peace be upon you, O Hasan the son of `Ali.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْوَصِيِّ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ

alssalamu ala alwasiyyi min badihi

Peace be upon the next successor.

---

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ نُورِكَ وَسِرَاجِكَ

allahumma salli `ala nurika wa sirajika

O Allah, send blessings upon Your light, Your lantern,

---

وَوَلِيِّ وَلِيِّكَ

wa waliyyi waliyyika

the representative of Your representative,

---

وَوَصِيِّ وَصِيِّكَ

wa wasiyyi wasiyyika

the successor of Your successor,

---

وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلَىٰ خَلْقِكَ

wa hujjatika `ala khalqika

and the argument of You against Your creatures.

---

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `alayki ya binta rasuli allahi

Peace be upon you, O daughter of Allah’s Messenger.

---

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بِنْتَ فَاطِمَةَ وَخَدِيـجَةَ

alssalamu `alayki ya binta fatimata wa khadijata

Peace be upon you, O daughter of Fatimah and Khadijah.

---

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ أَمِيرِ ٱلْمُؤمِنينَ

alssalamu `alayki ya binta amiri almu'minina

Peace be upon you, O daughter of the Commander of the Faithful.

---

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ ٱلْحَسَنِ وَٱلْحُسَيْنِ

alssalamu `alayki ya binta alhasani walhusayni

Peace be upon you, O daughter of al-Hasan and al-Husayn.

---

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ وَلِيِّ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `alayki ya binta waliyyi allahi

Peace be upon you, O daughter of Allah’s representative.

---

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا أُخْتَ وَلِيِّ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu `alayki ya ukhta waliyyi allahi

Peace be upon you, O sister of Allah’s representative.

---

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا عَمَّةَ وَلِيِّ ٱللَّهِ

alssalamu alayki ya ammata waliyyi allahi

Peace be upon you, O paternal aunt of Allah’s representative.

---

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ يَا بِنْتَ مُوسَىٰ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ

alssalamu alayki ya binta musa bni jafarin

Peace be upon you, O daughter of Musa the son of Ja`far.

---

وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu

Allah’s mercy and blessings, too, be upon you.

---

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكِ

alssalamu `alayki

Peace be upon you.

---

عَرَّفَ ٱللَّهُ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ فِي ٱلْجَنَّةِ

`arrafa allahu baynana wa baynakum fi aljannati

May Allah introduce us to you all in Paradise,

---

وَحَشَرَنَا فِي زُمْرَتِكُمْ

wa hasharana fi zumratikum

include us with your group,

---

وَأَوْرَدَنَا حَوْضَ نَبِيِّكُمْ

wa awradana hawda nabiyyikum

allow us to approach the pond of Your Prophet,

---

وَسَقَانَا بِكَأْسِ جَدِّكُمْ

wa saqana bika'si jaddikum

and serve us with water from the cup of your grandfather

---

مِنْ يَدِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ

min yadi `aliyyi bni abi talibin

and from the hand of `Ali the son of Abu-Talib.

---

صَلَوَاتُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيكُمْ

salawatu allahi `alaykum

Allah’s blessings be upon you all.

---

أَسْأَلُ ٱللَّهَ أَنْ يُرِيَنَا فِيكُمُ ٱلسُّرُورَ وَٱلْفَرَجَ

as'alu allaha an yuriyana fikumu alssurura walfaraja

I beseech Allah to show us delight and relief through you,

---

وَأَنْ يَجْمَعَنَا وَإِِيَّاكُمْ فِي زُمْرَةِ جَدِّكُمْ

wa an yajma`ana wa iyyakum fi zumrati jaddikum

to join us with you in the group of your grandfather

---

مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

muhammadin salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi

Muhammad, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Household,

---

وَأَنْ لاََ يَسْلُبَنَا مَعْرِفَتَكُمْ

wa an la yaslubana ma`rifatakum

and never to deprive us of our recognition of you.

---

إِِنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ قَدِيرٌ

innahu waliyyun qadirun

Verily, He is Guardian and All-powerful.

---

أَتَقَرَّبُ إِِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ بِحُبِّكُمْ

ataqarrabu ila allahi bihubbikum

I seek nearness to Allah through my love for you,

---

وَٱلْبَرَاءَةِ مِنْ أَعْدَائِكُمْ

walbara'ati min a`da'ikum

repudiation of your enemies,

---

وَٱلتَّسْلِيمِ إِلَىٰ اللَّهِ

walttaslimi ila allahi

and submission to Allah,

---

رَاضِياً بِهِ غَيْرَ مُنْكِرٍ وَلاَ مُسْتَكْبِرٍ

radiyan bihi ghayra munkirin wa la mustakbirin

accepting Him without denial or arrogance,

---

وَعَلَىٰ يَقيِنِ مَا أَتَىٰ بِهِ مُحَمَّدٌ

wa `ala yaqini ma ata bihi muhammadun

being fully certain of what Muhammad has brought,

---

وَبِهِ رَاضٍ

wa bihi radin

and showing full satisfaction with it.

---

نَطْلُبُ بِذٰلِكَ وَجْهَكَ

natlubu bidhalika wajhaka

We, through this, only seek Your Face,

---

يَا سَيِّدِي ٱللَّهُمَّ وَرِضَاكَ

ya sayyidi allahumma wa ridaka

O my Master Allah, and Your satisfaction

---

وَٱلدَّارَ ٱلآخِرَةَ

walddara al-akhirata

as well as the Next Abode.

---

يَا فَاطِمَةُ ٱشْفَعِي لِي فِي ٱلْجَنَّةِ

ya fatimatu ishfa`i li fi aljannati

O Fatimah, (please) intercede for me to win Paradise,

---

فَإِنَّ لَكِ عِنْدَ ٱللَّهِ شَأْناً مِنَ ٱلشَّأْنِ

fa'inna laki `inda allahi sha'nan min alshsha'ni

for you enjoy an outstanding status with Allah.

---

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَخْتِمَ لِي بِٱلسَّعَادَةِ

allahumma inni as'aluka an takhtima li bilssa`adati

O Allah, I do beseech You to seal my life with happiness;

---

فَلاَ تَسْلُبْ مِنِّي مَا أَنَا فِيهِ

fala taslub minni ma ana fihi

so, (please) do not deprive me of that which I enjoy.

---

وَلاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَلِيِّ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahi alaliyyi alazimi

There is neither might nor power except with Allah the All-high and All-great.

---

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱسْتَجِبْ لَنَا

allahumma istajib lana

O Allah, (please) respond to us

---

وَتَقَبَّلْهُ بِكَرَمِكَ وَعِزَّتِكَ

wa taqabbalhu bikaramika wa `izzatika

and accept this from us in the name of Your generosity, almightiness,

---

وَبِرَحْمَتِكَ وَعَافِيَتِكَ

wa birahmatika wa `afiyatika

mercy, and bestowal of wellbeing.

---

وَصَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ

wa salla allahu ala muhammadin wa alihi ajmaina

May Allah bless Muhammad and his entire Household

---

وَسَلَّمَ تَسْليماً يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

wa sallama tasliman ya arhama alrrahimina

and pour down peace on them, O most merciful of all those who show mercy.
