السَّلامُ عـَلَيـْكَ يا وارِثَ آدَمَ صـَفـُوةِ اللهِ

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā wāritha ādama ṣafwatillāh

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Adam, the chosen one of Allah

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيْكَ يا وارِثَ نـوُحٍ نَبــِيِ اللهِ

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā wāritha nūḥin nabī allah

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Nuh, the Prophet of Allah

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيـْكَ يـا وارِثَ إبـراهيـمَ خـَليـلِ اللهِ

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā wāritha ibrāhīma khalīl allāh

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Ibrahim, the friend of Allah

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيـْكَ يا وارِثَ موســى كـَليِم اللهِ

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā wāritha mūsā kalīm allāh

Peace be upon you. O inheritor of Musa, the one who talked to Allah

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيـْكَ يـا وارِثَ عـيـسى روُحِ الله

assalamu ʿalayka ya wārisa ʿīsā rūḥi allah

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of 'Isa, the spirit of Allah

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيْكَ يا وارِثَ مـُحـَمـّدٍ حـَبـيبِ اللهِ

assalamu ʿalayka ya waritha muhammadin habibi allah

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Muhammad, the beloved friend of Allah

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيـْكَ يـا وارِثَ اَميرِ المُؤمِنينَ وَلَيِ اللهِ

al-salāmu ʿalayk(a) yā wārith(a) amīr(i) al-muʾminīn(a) wa-lay(i) allāh(i)

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Ali, the commander of the faithful and the friend of Allah

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيـْكَ يَابـنَ مـُحـَمـّدٍ المـُصـطـَفـى

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā ibna muḥammad al-muṣṭafā

Peace be upon you, O son of the Muhammad mustafaa

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيْكَ يَابـن عـلي المرتـضـى

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā ibna ʿalī al-murtadhā

Peace be upon you, O son of Ali Murtazaa

---

السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَابـن فاطـمة الزهراء

al-salāmu ʿalayk(a) yā bint fāṭimah al-zahrāʾ

Peace be upon you, O son of Fatema,

---

السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَابـنَ خَديجَةَ الكُبـرى

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā ibna khadījah al-kubrā

Peace be upon you, O son of Khadijatul- kubra

---

السَّلام عَلَيْكَ يا ثارَ اللهِ وابـنَ ثارِِهِ والوِتـرَ المَوتـوُرَ

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā thāra allāhi wa ibna thārihi wa al-witr al-mawtūra

Peace be upon you, O he who fought in the way of Allah and the son of one who fought in the way of Allah

---

اَشـهَدُ اَنَّكَ قَد اَقَمتَ الصَّلاةَ وَآتَيتَ الزَّكاة

ashhadu annaka qad aqamta al-salata wa atayta al-zakata

I bear witness that verily you established the prayers And gave the zakat (prescribed share) to the needy

---

وَاَمَرتَ بـاُلمِعروف ِوَنَهَيتَ عـَنِ المُنكرِ

wa amartu bil-ma'rufi wa nahaita 'anil-munkar

And commanded to do what is right and lawful And not to do that which is wrong and unlawful

---

وَاَطـَعـتَ اللهَ وَرَسـولَهُ حـَتّى اَتيكَ اليَقـينُ

wa'aṭaʿta allāha wa rasūlahu ḥattā atāka al-yaqīn

And obeyed Allah and His Messenger until the inevitable came unto you

---

فـَلَعـَنَ اللهُ اُمَةً قَتـَلَتـكَ وَلَعَنَ اللهُ اُمَةً ظَلَمَتكَ

falaʿana allah ummatan qatalatak wa laʿana allah ummatan thalamatka

So, Allah curse those who killed you And Allah curse those who wronged you

---

وَلَعَنَ اللهُ اُمَةً سَمِعت بـِذلك فَرَضِيَت بـه

wa-laʿana-llahu ummatan samiʿat bi-dhalik faraḍiyat bihi

And Allah curse those who heard the event and rested satisfied

---

يا مَولاي يا ابا عَبدِ اللهِ

yā maulāyā yā aba ʿabdillāh

O My Master, O Aboo ′Abdullah!

---

اَشهَدُ اَنّك كُنتَ نوُرا في الأصلابِ الشّامِخَةِ وَالأرحـامِ المُطَهَرَةِ

ashhadu annaka kuntan nūran fī al-aṣlābi al-shāmikhah wa al-arḥāmi al-muṭahharah

I bear witness that verily you were a light in the sublime loins and purified wombs

---

لم تـُنَجـِسـكَ الجـاهِليَّةُ بـاَنِجـاسـِها

lam tunajjiska al-jahiliyyah baniqasiha

The impurities of ignorance did not even tough you

---

وَلَم تـُلبـِسكَ مِن مُدلَهِمّاتِ ثـِيابـِها

walam tulbis-ka min mudlahim-matith-thiyab-iha

Nor could its soiled and dirty bearing ever smear you

---

وَاَشـهَدُ أنَكَ مِن دَعائِم الدّين وَاَركانِ المُؤمِنينَ

wa-ash'hadu annaka min da'aim al-deen wa-arkan al-mu'mineen

I bear witness that, verily, you are the mainstay of the religion, and the supporter of the faithful ones

---

وَاَشهَدُ اَنّكَ الإمـام البَّرُ التَّقـيُ الرَّضـيُ الزَّكيّ الهادِي المَهدِيُ

wa-ashhadu annaka al-imām al-barū al-taqy al-raḍī al-zakī al-hādī al-mahdī

I bear witness that, verily, you are a pious, God-fearing, favorite, wise And rightly guided (Imam)

---

وَاَشـهَدُ اَنَّ الأَئمّة مِن وُلْدِكَ كَلِمةُ التَّقـوى

wa-ashhadu anna al-a'imma min wul-dika kalimatu al-taqwa

I bear witness that the Imams, in your progeny, are the words of piety

---

وَاَعـلامُ الهُدى وَالعـُروةُ الوُثـقى وَالحـُجَّةُ عـَلى اَهل الدُنيـا

wa āʿlamu al-hudá wal-ʿurwatu al-wuthqá wal-ḥujjatu ʿalá ahli al-dunyá

And the signs of guidance And the safe handle of Islam, And the decisive argument for the humankind.

---

وَاُشـهِدُ اللهَ وَمـلائكـَتـَهُ وَاَنبـِيائَهُ وَرُسـُلَهُ

wa ʾushhidu allāh wa malāʾikatahu wa anbiyāʾahu wa rusulahu

I call Allah to give witness, and also His Angels And His Prophets and His Messenger

---

اَنّي بـِكـمُ مُؤمِنٌ وَبـِايِابـِكم مُوقنٌ بـَشَرائِع ديني وخواتيِم عَمَلي

'anni bikum mu'minun wa bi-ayyibikum muqinin bi-shara'i'i dini wa khawatimi 'amali

That, verily, I believe in (all of) you And that I am sure of your Return Joined to the divine laws of my belief and my accomplishments

---

وقَلبي لقَلبِكم سِلمٌ وَاَمري لِامْرِكـمُ مُتَّبـع

wa qalbi liqalbikum salmun wa amri liamrikum muttabiʿ

And my heart is resigned to yours And my conduct is following the example of yours

---

صـَلَوات الله عَلَيكم وَعَلى اَرواحـِكم وَعَلى اَجـسـادِكُم

ṣalawātu llāhi ʿalaykum waʿalā arwāḥikum waʿalā ajسādikum

Blessings of Allah be on (all of) you and on your souls And on your bodies

---

وعـَلَى اَجـسـامِكُم وَعـَلى شـاهِدِكم

waʿalā ajسāmikum waʿalā shāhidikum

and on your forms and (when) you are in view

---

وَعـَلَى غـائِبـِكم وَعـَلَى ظـاهركم وعـلى بــاطـِنـِكـم

waʿalā ghā'ibikum waʿalā dhāhirikum waʿala bāṭinikum

and (when) you are out of sight and on your style and on your substance.

---

بـاَبـي أَنـت وَ اُمي يَا بْن رَسـُولِ اللهِ يا ابـا عـَبـدِ اللهِ

bābī anta wa ummī, yā ibn rasūlillāh, yā abā ʿabdillāh

My father and mother be sacrificed for you, O son of the Messenger of Allah! My father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Aboo Abdullah!

---

لَقَد عَظـُمتِ الرَّزيَّةُ و جـَلَتِ المُصـيبـَةُ بـِكَ عَلَينا

laqad ʿadhimatir-raziyyatu wa jalatil-musībatu bika ʿalayna

Verily terrible was the calamity and your suffering casts gloom upon us

---

وَعَلى جــَمــيعِ اَهل السَّمــواتِ والأرض

wa ʿalā jamīʿi ahl al-samāwāt wa al-arḍ

And upon all the people of the heavens and the earth.

---

فــَلَعَنَ اللهُ اُمـةً أَسرجَت و َاَلجمـَتْ وَتـَهَيَأت و تنـقـبـت لِقـِتالِك

falʿana allahumma ummatan asrajat wa aljamat wa tahayat wa tanqabat liqitalik

Therefore, curse of Allah be on the people who saddled up and gave rein to their horses and prepared to kill you.

---

يا مَوْلاي ياابـا عـَبـدِ اللهِ

yā mawlāy yā abā ʿabdillāh

O my Master, O Aba ′Abdullah!

---

قَصَدْتُ حَرَمَك وَاَتَيْت اِلى مَشْهَدِك

qaṣadtu ḥaramak wa ataytu ila mashhadik

I moved towards your sacred shrine and came to visit you

---

اَسـئَلُ اللهَ بـالِشـأن الذَي لَكَ عِندَهُ

as'alullaha bilsh'an alladhi laka ʿindahu

I beseech Allah by the status that you enjoy with Him

---

وَ بـِالمَحَل الَّذي لَكَ لَدَيهِ

wa bilmahalli alladhi laka ladayhi

And in the position that you enjoy with Him

---

اَن يُصـَليَعَلَى مُحـَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحـَمّدٍ

'an yuṣalliya 'alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadin

To send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad

---

وَاَن يَجعَلَني مَعَكم في الدُنيا وَالآخـِرة

wa an yajʿalani maʿakum fi al-dunya wa al-akhirah

And keep me with you in this world and in the Hereafter

---

السّلامُ عـَلَيكَ يابــنَ رَسـوُلِ اللهِ

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā ibna rasūlillāh

Peace be upon you, O son of the Messenger of Allah.

---

السـّلامُ عـَلَيكَ يابـنَ نَبـِيِ اللهِ

as-salāmu ʿalayka yā ibna nabīyil-lāh

Peace be upon you, O son of the Prophet of Allah.

---

السـّلامُ عـَلَيـكَ يابـنَ اَمير المُؤمِنينَ

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā ibna amīr al-muʾminīn

Peace be upon you, O son of Ameer al-Mu'mineen (the commander of the believers).

---

السـّلامُ عَلَيكَ يابـنَ الحـُسـينِ الشـهيدِ

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā bna al-ḥusayni al-shahīd

Peace be upon you, O son of al-Husayn the shaheed (martyr).

---

السـّلامُ عَلَيكَ ايُّها الشـَهيدُ وابـن الشـهيد

al-salāmu ʿalayka ayyuha al-shahīd wa ibnu al-shahīd

Peace be upon you, O shaheed.

---

السـّلامُ عـَلَيكَ ايُّها المـَظـلومُ وَابـنُ المَظـلوُمِ

al-salāmu ʿalayka ayyuha al-maẓlūmu wa ibnu al-maẓlūmi

Peace be upon you, O the wronged one and son of the wronged one.

---

لَعَنَ اللهُ اُمةً قَتـَلَتـك وَلَعَنَ الله اُمةً ظَلَمَتـكَ

laʿana allah ummatan qatalatk(a) wa laʿana allah ummatan ẓalamtak(a)

Curse of Allah be on those who killed you. Curse of Allah be on those who persecuted you.

---

وَلَعَن اللهُ اُمةً سـَمِعت بـِذلِك فَرَضِيت بـِهِ

wa laʿanallāhu ummatan samiʿat bidhalika faraḍītu bih.

Curse of Allah be on those who heard this even but rested satisfied.

---

السـّلامُ عَلَيكَ يا ياوَليَّ اللهِ وَابـنَ وَلِيهِ

al-salāmu ʿalayka yā yāwally allāhi wa ibna waliyyihi

Peace be upon you, O the saint of Allah and son of the saint of Allah.

---

لَقَد عَظُمتِ المُصـيبـَةُ

laqad ʿaẓumati al-muṣībah

Verily terrible was the calamity

---

وَجـَلّتِ الرَزِيةُ بـِكَ عـَلينا وَعـَلَى جـَميعِ المُسـلِمينَ

wajallatir-razīya bik ʿalaynā wa ʿalā jamiʿil-muslimīn

And your suffering casts gloom upon us And upon all of Muslims

---

فَلَعَنَ اللهُ اُمةً قَتَلَتك وَاَبـرءُ اِلى اللهِ وَاِليكَ مـِنهم

falʿana allahu ummatan qatalatuka wa abaruu ila allahi wa ilayka minhum

So, curse of Allah be on those who killed you And I disconnect all links with them and turn to Allah and you.

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيكُم يااَولياءَ اللهِ وَاَحـِبـائَهُ

assalamu ʿalaykum ya awliyāʾa allahi wa aḥibāʾuhu

Peace be upon all of you, O the saints and dears of Allah

---

السَّلام ُعـَلَيكُم يا اصـفـِياءَ اللهِ وَاوِدّائَهُ

assalamu ʿalaykum ya asfiya' allahi wa awidda'ihi

Peace be upon all of you, O the adorers of Allah and the sincerely attached to Him

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيكُم يا اَنصـارَ دينِ اللهِ

as-salāmu ʿalaykum yā ansāra dīni allāh

Peace be upon all of you, O the helpers of Allah's religion

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيكُم يا اَنـصـارَ رَسـُولِ اللهِ

assalamu ʿalaykum ya ansarar-rasulillah

Peace be upon all of you, O the helpers of the Messenger of Allah

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيـكُم يـا اَنـصـارَ اَميرِ المُؤمِنـين

al-salāmu ʿalaykum yā anṣāra amir al-muʾminīn

Peace be upon all of you, O the helpers of Ameer al-Mu'mineen

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيكُم يا اَنـصـارَ فـاطـِمةَ الزهراء سَيدةِ نِساءِ العـالَمينَ

as-salāmu ʿalaykum yā anṣāra fāṭimata al-zahrāʾ sayyidati nisāʾi al-ʿālamī

Peace be upon all of you, O the helpers of Fatimah the chiefess of the women of this world

---

السَّلامُ عـَلَيكُم يا اَنـصـارَ اَبـي مُحـَمَّدٍ الحـَسـَنِ بـن عـليٍّ الوَلي الناصِح

al-salāmu ʿalaykum yā anṣāra abī muḥammad al-ḥasan ibn ʿalī al-walī al-nāṣ

Peace be upon all of you, O the helpers of Aboo Muhammad al-Hasan ibn Ali The sincere, pure and faithful saint

---

السَّلامُ عَلَيكُم يا اَنصارَ اَبـي عَبـدِ اللهِ

al-salāmu ʿalaykum yā anṣāra abī ʿabdillāh

Peace be upon all of you, O the helpers of Aboo Abdullah

---

بـاَبـي اَنتُم وَاُمي طِبـتُم وطابـَتِ الأرضُ الّتـي فـيها دُفـِنـتُم

bābī antum wa ummī ṭibtum wa ṭābatil-arḍu-llatī fīhā dufintum

My father and mother be sacrificed for you Verily, you were pure; therefore, the land wherein you are buried has been purified

---

وَفـُزتُم فـَوزاً عـَظـيماً

wa fuztum fawzan ʿaẓīmā

You also attained your end and won great fortune

---

فَيا لَيْتَني كُنْت مَعَكُم

fayā laitani kuntu maʿakum

Would that we were with you

---

فَاَفُوزَ مَعَكُمْ

fā'afūza maʿakum

So that we could also share the accomplishment with you.

---

فَيالَيْتَني كُنْت مَعَكُم

fayalaytanī kunta maʿakum

Would that we were with you

---

فَاَفُوز مَعَكُمْ

fā'afūz ma'akum

So that we could also share the accomplishment with you.
