bismillāh al-raḥmān al-raḥīm

In the Name of ALLAH, the All-merciful, the All-compassionate

---

أَلْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ

al-ḥamdu lillāh al-ladhī jaʿala

Praise belongs to ALLAH, who appointed

---

اللَّيْلَ لِباساً،

al-laylu libāsan

the night to be a garment,

---

وَالنَّوْمَ سُباتَاً،

wa al-nawmu subatan

and sleep for a rest,

---

وَجَعَلَ النَّهارَ نُشُوراً.

wa jaʿala al-nahāra nushūran

and day He appointed for a rising!

---

لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْ بَعَثْتَنِي مِنْ مَرْقَدِي، وَلَوْ شِئْتَ جَعَلْتَهُ سَرْمَداً

laka al-ḥamdu an baʿathtanī min marqadī, wa law shiʾta jaʿaltahu sarmadān

To Thee belongs praise, for Thou roused me from my sleep, —and hadst Thou willed, Thou wouldst have made it everlasting—

---

حَمْداً دَائِمَاً لا يَنْقَطِعُ أَبَداً،

ḥamdan dāʾiman lā yanqaṭiʿu abadan

an everlasting praise that will never be cut off

---

وَلا يُحْصِي لَهُ الْخَلائِقُ عَدَدَاً.

walā yuḥṣī lahul-khalāiqu ʿadadā

and whose number the creatures will never count!

---

أَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْ

allāhumma laka al-ḥamd, an..

O ALLAH, to Thee belongs praise,

---

خَلَقْتَ فَسَوَّيْتَ،

khalqta fasawwayta

for Thou created, then proportioned,

---

وَقَدَّرْتَ وَقَضَيْتَ،

wa qaddarta wa qadaytَ

ordained and decreed,

---

وَأَمَتَّ وَأَحْيَيْتَ،

wa-amattu wa-ahyayta

gave death and bestowed life,

---

وَأَمْرَضْتَ وَشَفَيْتَ،

wa-amrarta wa-shafayta

made sick and healed,

---

وَعافَيْتَ وَأَبْلَيْتَ،

waʿāfayta waʾablayta

made well and afflicted,

---

وَعَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَيْتَ،

wa ʿalā al-ʿarshi istawāytَ

and sat upon the Throne

---

وَعَلَى الْمُلْكِ احْتَوَيْتَ.

wa ʿalal-mulki ihtawaita

encompassed the Kingdom!

---

أَدْعُوكَ دُعآءَ مَنْ

adʿūka duʿāa man-

I supplicate Thee with the supplication of one

---

ضَعُفَتْ وَسِيلَتُهُ،

ḍaʿufat wasīlatuhu

whose mediation is weak,

---

وَانْقَطَعَتْ حِيلَتُهُ،

wa inqataʿat heelatuhu

whose stratagems have been cut off,

---

وَاقْتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُ،

waqtaraba ajaluhu

whose term has drawn near,

---

وَتَدانى فِي الدُّنْيا أَمَلُهُ،

wa tadānā fī al-dunyā amaluhu

whose expectation from this world has shrunk,

---

وَاشْتَدَّتْ إلى رَحْمَتِكَ فاقَتُهُ،

wa-ʾishtaddat ʾilā raḥmatika faqatuhu

whose neediness for Thy mercy has intensified,

---

وَعَظُمَتْ لِتَفْرِيطِهِ حَسْرَتُهُ،

waʿadhumat li-tafriṭihi ḥasratuhu

whose remorse for his neglect has become great,

---

وَكَثُرَتْ زَلَّتُهُ وَعَثْرَتُهُ،

wa kathurat zallatuhu wa ʿathratuhu

whose slips and stumbles have become many,

---

وَخَلُصَتْ لِوَجْهِكَ تَوْبَتُهُ.

wa khaluṣat liwajhika tawbatuhu

and whose repentance is devoted sincerely to Thy face.

---

فَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّد خاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ،

faṣallī ʿalā muḥammad khātim al-nabiyyīn

So bless MUHAMMAD, the Seal of the Prophets,

---

وَعَلى أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ،

wa ʿalā ahli baytihit-tayyibīn at-tāhirīn

and his Household, the good, the pure.

---

وَارْزُقْنِي شَفاعَةَ مُحَمَّد صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ،

wa arzuqni shafaʿata muḥammad ṣallā allāhu ʿalayhi wa ālihi

provide me with the intercession of MUHAMMAD (ALLAH bless him and his Household)

---

وَلا تَحْرِمْنِي صُحْبَتَهُ

wa lā taḥrimnī ṣuḥbatahu

and deprive me not of his companionship!

---

إنَّكَ أَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

'innaka anta arḥamu r-raḥimīn

Surely Thou art the Most Merciful of the merciful!

---

أَللَّهُمَّ اقْضِ لِي فِي الاَرْبِعآءِ أَرْبَعَاً: إجْعَلْ

allāhumma iqḍī lī fī al-arbaʿā'i arbaʿan: ijʿal..

O ALLAH, decree for me on Wednesday four things: Induce me

---

قُوَّتِي فِي طاعَتِكَ،

quwwati fi ṭāʿatika

to be strong in obedience to Thee,

---

وَنَشاطِي فِي عِبادَتِكَ،

wa-nashaṭī fī ʿibādatika

to be joyful in worshiping Thee,

---

وَرَغْبَتِي فِي ثَوَابِكَ،

wa raghbatī fī thawābika

to be desirous of Thy reward,

---

وَزُهْدِي فِيما يُوجِبُ لِي أَلِيمَ عِقابِكَ،

wa zuhdī fīmā yūjibulī alīm ʿiqābika.

and to abstain from that which would make incumbent upon me Thy painful punishment!

---

إنَّكَ لَطِيفٌ لِما تَشآءُ.

'innaka latīfun limā tashā'u

Thou art Gentle to whom Thou wilt!
