bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm

In the Name of ALLAH, the All-merciful, the All-compassionate

---

أَلْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ

al-ḥamdu lillāh

Praise belongs to ALLAH,

---

الاَوَّلِ قَبْلَ الانْشآءِ وَالاحْيآءِ،

al-awwalu qabla al-inshā'i wal-ahyā'i

the First before the bringing forth and the giving of life,

---

وَالاخِرِ بَعْدَ فَنآءِ الاَشْيَآءِ،

wa al-ākhir baʿda fanāʾi al-ashyāʾi

and the Last after the annihilation of all things,

---

الْعَلِيمِ الَّذِي

al-ʿalīmi alladhī

the All-knowing who

---

لا يَنْسَى مَنْ ذَكَرَهُ،

lā yansā man dhakarahu

forgets not him who remembers Him,

---

وَلا يَنْقُصُ مَنْ شَكَرَه،

walā yanqusu man shakarah

decreases not him who thanks Him,

---

وَلا يُخَيِّبُ [يَخِيبُ خ ل] مَنْ دَعاهُ،

wa lā yukhayyibu (yakhību) man daʿāhu

disappoints not him who supplicates Him,

---

وَلا يَقْطَعُ رَجآءَ مَنْ رَجاهُ.

walā yaqtuʿu rajāʾa man rajāhū

and cuts not off the hope of him who hopes in Him!

---

أَللَّهُمَّ إنِّي

allāhumma innī

O ALLAH,

---

أُشْهِدُكَ وَكَفى بِكَ شَهِيداً، وَأُشْهِدُ جَمِيعَ مَلائِكَتِكَ،

'ušhiduka wa kafā bika šahīdan, wa 'ušhidu jamīʿa malā'ikatika

I call Thee to witness—and Thou art sufficient witness—and I call to witness all Thy angels,

---

وَسُكَّانَ سَمواتِكَ، وَحَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ، وَمَنْ بَعَثْتَ مِنْ أَنْبِيآئِكَ وَرُسُلِكَ وَأَنْشَأْتَ مِنْ أَصْنافِ خَلْقِكَ، أَنِّي

wa sukkana samawatika, wa hamalata 'arshika, wa man ba'athta min anbiya'ika wa rusulika wa ansha'ta min asnaafi khalkika, anni..

the inhabitants of Thy heavens, the bearers of Thy Throne, Thy prophets and Thy messengers whom Thou hast sent out, and the various kinds of creatures Thou hast brought forth, that

---

أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ

ashhadu annaka anta allah

I bear witness that Thou art ALLAH;

---

لا إلهَ إلاَّ أَنْتَ،

lā ilāha illā anta

there is no god but Thou,

---

وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ، وَلا عَدِيلَ

waḥdaka lā sharīka lak, wa lā ʿadīla

Thou alone, who hast no associate nor any equal,

---

وَلا خُلْفَ لِقَوْلِكَ وَلا تَبْدِيْلَ،

wa lā khulfa liqawlika walā tabdīla

and Thy word has no failing, nor any change;

---

وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِهِ عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ،

wa anna muhammadan sallallahu 'alayhi wa alihi 'abduk wa rasuluk

and that MUHAMMAD (ALLAH bless him and his Household) is Thy servant and Thy messenger;

---

أَدَّى ما حَمَّلْتَهُ إلَى الْعِبادِ،

adda ma hamalatahu ila al-'ibad

he delivered to the servants that with which Thou charged him,

---

وَجاهَدَ فِي اللَّهِ [عزّوجل خ ل ]حَقَّ الْجِهادِ،

wa jahada fi allahi (ʿazzawajal) haqqa al-jihadi

he struggled for ALLAH as is His due,

---

وَأَنَّهُ بَشَّرَ بِما هُوَ حَقٌّ مِنَ الثَّوابِ،

wa-anna-hu bashshara bima huwa haqqun mina ath-thawab

he gave the good news of the truth of reward,

---

وَأَنْذَرَ بِما هُوَ صِدْقٌ مِنَ الْعِقابِ.

wa-anẓara bimā huwa ṣidqun minal-ʿiqāb

and he warned of the veracity of punishment.

---

أَللَّهُمَّ ثَبِّتْنِي عَلى دِينِكَ ما أَحْيَيْتَنِي،

allāhumma thabbitnī ʿalā dīnika mā aḥyaytanī

O ALLAH, make me firm in Thy religion as long as Thou keepest me alive,

---

وَلا تُزِغْ قَلْبِي بَعْدَ إذْ هَدَيْتَنِي،

walā tuzigh qalbī baʿda idh hadaytanī

make not my heart to swerve after Thou hast guided me,

---

وَهَبْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً،

wa-hab li min ladunka rahmatan

and give me mercy from Thee,

---

إنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ،

'innaka anta al-wahhāb

surely Thou art the Giver.

---

صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِ مُحَمَّد

ṣallī ʿalā muḥammad wa āli muḥammad

Bless MUHAMMAD and the Household of MUHAMMAD,

---

وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنْ أَتْباعِهِ وَشِيعَتِهِ

wa-jʿalnī min atbāʿihi wa-shīʿatih

make me one of his followers and his partisans,

---

وَاحْشُرْنِي فِي زُمْرَتِهِ

wa'aḥshurnī fī zumratihī

muster me in his band,

---

وَوَفِّقْنِي لاَداءِ فَرْضِ الْجُمُعاتِ،

wa waffiqnī li ādāʾi farḍi al-jumuʿāt

and give me the success of accomplishing the obligatory observance of Friday,

---

وَما أَوْجَبْتَ عَلَيَّ فِيها مِنَ الطَّاعاتِ،

wa mā ʾawjabta ʿalayya fīhā minaṭ-ṭāʿāti.

performing the acts of obedience which Thou has made incumbent upon me within it,

---

وَقَسَمْتَ لاَِهْلِها مِنَ الْعَطآءِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجَزآءِ،

wa qasamta li-ahlīhā min al-ʿaṭāʾ fī yawm al-jazāʾ

[receiving] the bestowal which Thou hast apportioned for its people on the Day of Recompense!

---

إنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ.

'innaka anta l-ʿazīzul-ḥakīm

Surely Thou art Might wise!
