Removal Of Worries
Duaa
يَا فَارِجَ الْهَمِّ وَكَاشِفَ الغَمِّ،
yā fārija al-hammi wa kāshifa al-ghammi
O Reliever of worry! O Remover of grief!
يَا رَحْمنَ الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ وَرَحِيمَهُمَا،
yā raḥmān al-dunyā wa-l-ākhirah wa raḥīmahumā
O Merciful in this world and the next and Compassionate in both!
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِ مُحَمَّد،
ṣalli ʿalā muḥammad wa āli muḥammad
Bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَافْرُجْ هَمِّيَ، وَاكْشِفْ غَمِّيَ،
wa afruj hammi, wa akshif ghammi
relieve my worry, and remove my grief!
يَا وَاحِدُ يَا أَحَدُ، يَا صَمَدُ،
yā wāḥidu yā ʾaḥadu, yā ṣamadu
O One, O Unique, O Eternal Refuge!
يَامَنْ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ،
yamam lam yalid walam yūlad
O He Who has not begotten, nor has been begotten,
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُواً أَحَدٌ،
walam yakun lahu kufuwan ahadun
and equal to Him is not any one!
اعْصِمْنِي وَطَهِّرْنِي، وَاْذهِبْ بِبَلِيَّتِي.
ʿiṣimnī waṭahhirnī, waʾdhib bi-balīyatī
Preserve me, purify me, and take away my affliction!
[وَاقْرَأْ آيَةَ الْكُرسِيّ وَالْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ وَقُلْ:]
wa qra'a ayyat al-kursiyy wal-mu'awwadhatayn, waqul huwa allahu ahad, waqul:
HERE YOU SHOULD RECITE THE THRONE VERSE (2:255), THE TWO SURAS OF TAKING REFUGE (113-114), AND UNITY (112). THEN SAY:
أَللَّهُمَّ إنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ سُؤَالَ مَنِ اشْتَدَّتْ فَاقَتُهُ،
allāhumma innī as'aluka suʾāla mani ishtaddat fāqatuhu
O God, I ask Thee with the asking of him whose neediness is intense,
وَضَعُفَتْ قُوَّتُهُ، وَكَثُرَتْ ذُنُوبُهُ،
waḍaʿufat quwwatuhu, wakathurat dhunubuhu
whose strength is frail, whose sins are many,
سُؤَالَ مَنْ لاَ يَجِدُ لِفَاقَتِهِ مُغِيْثاً،
suʾāla man lā yajidu li-fāqatihi mughīthan
the asking of one who finds no helper in his neediness,
وَلاَ لِضَعْفِهِ مُقَوِّياً،
walā liḍaʿfihī muqawwiyāً
no strengthener in his frailty,
وَلاَ لِذَنْبِهِ غَافِراً غَيْرَكَ،
walā liẓanbihi g̲h̲āfirān g̲hayraka
no forgiver of his sin other than Thee,
يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإكْرَامِ.
yā dhāl-jalāli wal-ikrāmِ
O Possessor of majesty and munificence!
أَسْأَلُكَ عَمَلاً تُحِبُّ بِهِ مَنْ عَمِلَ بِهِ،
as'aluka 'amalan tuhibbu bihi man 'amila bihi
I ask of Thee a work through which Thou wilt love him who works it
وَيَقِيناً تَنْفَعُ بِهِ مَنِ اسْتَيْقَنَ بِهِ
wa yaqīnan tanfaʿu bihi mani istayqana bihi
and a certainty by which Thou wilt profit him who is certain
حَقَّ الْيَقِينِ فِيْ نَفَاذِ أَمْرِكَ.
ḥaqq al-yaqīni fī nafāḍi ḥamrik
with the truth of certainty concerning the execution of Thy command!
أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِ مُحَمَّد،
allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā muḥammad wa āli muḥammad
O God, bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَاقْبِضَ عَلَى الصِّدْقِ نَفْسِي،
waqbida ʿalaa al-ṣidqi nafsī
take my soul while it is firm in sincerity,
وَاقْطَعْ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا حَاجَتِي،
waqṭaʿ mina al-dunya ḥājatī
cut off my need for this world,
وَاجْعَلْ فِيمَا عِنْدَكَ رَغْبَتِي،
wa'jal fi ma 'indaka raghbati
make my desire for what is with Thee
شَوْقاً إلَى لِقَائِكَ،
shawqan ilā liqāʾika
become a yearning to meet Thee,
وَهَبْ لِي صِدْقَ التَّوَكُّلِ عَلَيْكَ .
wa hab li ṣidqa al-tawakkul ʿalayk
and give me true confidence in Thee!
أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ كِتَاب قَدْ خَلاَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ
as'aluka min khayri kitabin qad khalā, wa a'ūdhu bika
I ask of Thee the good of the writ that has been made and I seek refuge with Thee
مِنْ شَرِّ كِتَاب قَدْ خَلاَ
min sharri kitabin qad khala
from the evil of the writ that has been made.
أَسْأَلُكَ خَوْفَ الْعَابِدِينَ لَكَ،
as'aluka khawfa al-'abideena laka
I ask of Thee the fear of The worshipers,
وَعِبَادَةَ الْخَاشِعِينَ لَكَ،
waʿibādat al-khāshiʿīna laka
the worship of those humbly fearful of Thee,
وَيَقِيْنَ الْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ عَلَيْكَ،
wa yaqīn al-mutawakkilīna ʿalayk
the certainty of those who have confidence in Thee,
وَتَوَكُّلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْكَ.
wa tawakkul al-mu'mineen alayka
and the confidence of those who have faith in Thee.
أَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ رَغْبَتِي فِي مَسْأَلَتِي
allāhumma ijʿal raghbatī fī mas'alatī
O God, make my desire in my asking
مِثْلَ رَغْبَةِ أَوْلِيَآئِكَ فِي مَسَائِلِهِمْ،
mithla raghbati awliyai-ka fi masa-ili-him
like the desire of Thy friends in their asking,
وَرَهْبَتِيْ مِثْلَ رَهْبَةِ أَوْلِيَآئِكَ،
wa rahbatī mithla rahbati awliyā'ika.
and my fear like the fear of Thy friends!
وَاسْتَعْمِلْنِي فِي مَرْضَاتِكَ،
wa astaʿmilnī fī marḍātika
Employ me in Thy good pleasure through works
عَمَلاً لاَ أَتْرُكُ مَعَهُ شَيْئاً مِنْ دِيْنِكَ
ʿamalan lā ʾa'truk maʿahu shayʾan min dīnika
in which I will not leave aside anything of Thy religion
مَخَافَةَ أَحْد مِنْ خَلْقِكَ.
makhāfat aḥad min khalqika
fearing any of Thy creatures!
أللَّهُمَّ هَذِهِ حَاجَتِي، فَأَعْظِمْ فِيهَا رَغْبَتِي،
allāhumma hādhīhi ḥājatī, fa'a'ẓim fīhā raghbatī
God, this is my need, so make my desire for it great,
وَأَظْهِرْ فِيهَا عُذْرِي، وَلَقِّنِي فِيهَا حُجَّتِي وَعَافِ فِيْهَا جَسَدِيْ.
wa'aẓhir fīhā ʿuẓrī, wa-laqqinī fīhā ḥujjatī wa-ʿāfi fīhā jasadī
within it make manifest my excuse, through it instil me with my argument, and by means of it make well my body!
أللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَصْبَحَ لَهُ ثِقَةٌ أَوْ رَجَآءٌ غَيْرُكَ،
allāhumma man aṣbaha lahu thiqaẗun aw rajāʾun ghayruka
O God, some rise in the morning having trust or hope in other than Thee.
فَقَدْ أَصْبَحْتُ وَأَنْتَ ثِقَتِي
faqad asbahtu wa anta thiqati
I rise in the morning, and Thou art my trust
وَرَجَآئِي فِي الأُمُورِ كُلِّهَا،
warajāʾī fil-umūr kullihā
and my hope in all affairs,
فَاقْضِ لِيْ بِخَيْرِهَا عَاقِبَةً،
faqdhi li bi khayriha 'aqibatan
so decree for me those which are best in outcome
وَنَجِّنِيْ مِنْ مُضِلاَّتِ الْفِتَنِ،
wa najjini min mudhillatil fitan
and deliver me from misguiding trials,
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.
bi-raḥmatika yā arḥama r-raḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful!
وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّد رُسُولِ اللهِ المُصْطَفَى،
wa ṣalla allāhu ʿalā sayyidinā muḥammad rasūli allāhi al-muṣṭafā
And God bless our chief, Muhammad the Messenger of God, the chosen,
وَعَلَى آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ.
wa ʿalā ālihi aṭ-ṭāhirīn
and his Household, the pure!
