أللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَـا الْغَيْثَ،

allāhumma asqinā al-ghaytha

O God, water us with rain,

---

وَانْشُرْ عَلَيْنَا رَحْمَتَـكَ بِغَيْثِكَ الْمُغْدِقِ

wa anshur ʿalayna raḥmataka bi-ghaythika al-mughdiqu

unfold upon us Thy mercy through Thy copious rain

---

مِنَ الْسَّحَابِ الْمُنْسَـاقِ لِنَبَاتِ أَرْضِكَ الْمُونِقِ فِي جَمِيـعِ الآفَاقِ،

min al-sahabi al-munsāqi li-nabāti arḍika al-mūniqi fī jamīʿi al-āfāq

from the driven clouds, so that Thy goodly earth may grow on all horizons!

---

وَامْنُنْ عَلَى عِبَادِكَ بِإينَاعِ الثَّمَرَةِ،

wa-amnun ʿalaa ʿibaadika bi-iynaai ath-thamaraati

Show kindness to Thy servants through the ripening of the fruit,

---

وأَحْيِ بِلاَدَكَ بِبُلُوغِ الزَّهَرَةِ.

wa ahyi biladaka bibulughiz-zahara

revive Thy land through the blossoming of the flowers,

---

وَأَشْهِدْ مَلائِكَتَكَ الْكِرَامَ السَّفَرَةَ

wa ash-hid malā'ikataka al-kerāma al-safarata

and let Thy angels - the noble scribes - be witness

---

بِسَقْي مِنْكَ نَافِع دَائِم غُزْرُهُ

bi-saqin minka naafiʿ daaʾim ghuzruhu

to a beneficial watering from Thee, lasting in its abundance,

---

َواسِعٌ دِرَرُهُ وَابِل سَرِيع عَاجِل

waāsiʿun diraruhu waābilun sareeʿun ʿajil

plenty in its flow, heavy, quick, soon,

---

تُحْيِي بِهِ مَا قَدْ مَات، وَتَرُدُّ بهِ مَا قَدْ فَاتَ،

tuḥyī bihī mā qad māt, wa taruddu bihī mā qad fāta

through which Thou revivest what has died, returnest what has vanished,

---

وَتُخْرِجُ بِهِ مَا هُوَ آت،

wa tukhrijubihī mā huwa āt

bringest forth what is coming,

---

وَتُوَسِّعُ بِهِ فِي الأَقْوَاتِ،

wa tuwasṣiʿu bihi fil-aqwāt

and providest plentiful foods,

---

سَحَاباً مُتَرَاكِماً هَنِيئاً مَرِيئاً طَبَقاً

saḥābān mutarākiman hanī'an mari'ian ṭabaqan

through heaped up, wholesome, productive clouds, in reverberating layers,

---

مُجَلْجَلاً غَيْرَ مُلِثٍّ وَدْقُهُ،

mujaljalān ghayra mulithhin wa dquh

the rain's downpour not without cease,

---

وَلاَ خُلَّب بَرْقُهُ.

walā khullab barquh

the lightning's flashes not without fruit!

---

أللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا غَيْثاً مَغيثَاً مَرِيعاً مُمْرِعاً عَرِيْضَاً،

allāhumma isqinā ghaythan maghīthan marīʿan mumriʿan ʿarīḍan

O God, give us water through rain, helping, productive, fertilizing, widespread,

---

وَاسِعاً غَزِيراً تَرُدُّ بِهِ النَّهِيضَ وَتَجْبُرُ بِهِ الْمَهِيضَ.

waāsiʿan ghazīran taruddu bihī al-nahīḍa wa tajburu bihī al-mahīḍa

plentiful, abundant, bringing back the risen, restoring the broken!

أللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا سَقْياً تُسِيلُ مِنْهُ الظِّرابَ،

allāhumma asqinā saqiyan tusīlu minhu al-dhirāb

O God, give us water with a watering through which Thou wilt make the stone hills pour,

---

وَتَمْلاءُ مِنْهُ الْجِبَابَ،

wa tamla'u minhu al-jibab

fill the cisterns,

---

وَتُفَجِّرُ بِهِ الأنْهَارَ،

wa tufajjiru bihi al-anhaar

flood the rivers,

---

وَتُنْبِتُ بِهِ الأشْجَارَ

wa tunbitu bihi al-ashjar

make the trees grow,

---

وَتُرْخِصُ بِهِ الأسْعَارَ فِي جَمِيع الأمْصَارِ،

wa turkhisu bihi al-asʿara fi jamiʿi al-amsari

bring down prices in all the lands,

---

وَتَنْعَشُ بِهِ البَهَائِمَ وَالْخَلْقَ،

wa tanʿashu bihi al-bahāʾima wal-khalq

invigorate the beasts and the creatures,

---

وَتُكْمِلُ لَنَا بِهِ طَيِّبَاتِ الرِّزْقِ،

wa tukmilu lana bihi tayyibati ar-riżqi

perfect for us the agreeable things of provision,

---

وَتُنْبِتُ لَنَا بِهِ الزَّرْعَ،

wa tunbitu lana bihi alzara'a

make grow for us the fields,

---

وَتُدِرُّ بِهِ الضَّرْعَ،

wa tudirru bihi ad-darʿa

let flow for us the teats,

---

وَتَزِيدُنَا بِهِ قُوَّةً إلَى قُوَّتِنَا.

wa tazīdunā bihī quwwatan ilā quwwātinā

and add for us strength to our strength!

---

أللَّهُمَّ لا تَجْعَلْ ظِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا سَمُوماً

allāhumma lā tajʿal ẓillahu ʿalaynā samūmāً

O God, make not the cloud's shadow over us a burning wind,

---

وَلاَ تَجْعَلْ بَرْدَهُ عَلَيْنَا حُسُوماً،

wa lā tajʿal bardahu ʿalaynā ḥusūmā

allow not its coldness to be cutting,

---

وَلاَ تَجْعَلْ صَوْبَهُ عَلَيْنَا رُجُوماً،

walā tajʿal ṣawbahu ʿalaynā rujūmāً

let not its pouring down upon us be a stoning,

---

وَلا تَجْعَلْ مَاءَهُ عَلَيْنَا أُجَاجـاً.

walā tajʿal māʾahu ʿalaynā ujājāً

and make not its waters for us bitter!

---

أللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِ مُحَمَّد،

allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā muḥammad wa āli muḥammad

O God, bless Muhammad and his Household

---

وَارْزُقْنَا مِنْ بَرَكَاتِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأرْضِ،

wa arzuqnaa min barakaatil-samaawaati wal-ardh

and provide us with the blessings of the heavens and the earth!

---

إنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْء قَدِيرٌ .

innaka ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr

Thou art powerful over everything! (3:26)
