أَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّد وَآلِهِ،

allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā muḥammad wa ālihi

O God, bless Muhammad and his Household,

---

وَأَفْرِشْنِي مِهَادَ كَـرَامَتِـكَ،

wa ʾafrishnī mihāda karāmatika

spread for me the bed of Thy honour,

---

وَأَوْرِدْنِي مَشَارِعَ رَحْمَتِـكَ،

wa-awridnī mashāriʿa raḥmatik

bring me to the wateringholes of Thy mercy,

---

وَأَحْلِلْنِي بُحْبُوحَةَ جَنَّتِكَ،

wa ahlilnī buḥbūḥata jannatika

set me down in the midst of Thy Garden,

---

وَلاَ تَسُمْنِي بِالرَّدِّ عَنْكَ،

wa lā tasumnī bil-raddi ʿank

stamp me not with rejection by Thee,

---

وَلا تَحْرِمْنِي بِـالْخَيْبَةِ مِنْـكَ،

walā taḥrimnī bil-khaybah minnak

deprive me not through disappointment by Thee,

---

وَلاَ تُقَاصَّنِي بِمَـا اجْتَرَحْتُ،

walā tuqāṣṣanī bimā ijtarah-tu

settle not accounts with me for what I have committed,

---

وَلاَ تُنَاقِشْنِي بِمَا اكْتَسَبْتُ،

wa lā tunāqishnī bimā iktasabtū

make no reckoning with me for what I have earned,

---

وَلا تُـبْرِزْ مَكْتُوْمِي، وَلاَ تَكْشِفْ مَسْتُورِي،

walā tubriz maktūmī, walā takhshif mastūrī

display not what I have hidden, expose not what I have covered over,

---

وَلاَ تَحْمِلْ عَلَى مِيزانِ الأنْصَافِ عَمَلِي،

walā tahmil ʿalā mīzāni'l-ʾinsāfi ʿamalī

weigh not my works on the scales of fairness,

---

وَلاَ تُعْلِنْ عَلَى عُيُونِ الْمَلاَءِ خَبَـرِي.

wala tuʿlin ʿalā ʿuyūni al-malāʾi khabarī

and make not my tidings known to the eyes of the crowd!

---

أَخْفِ عَنْهُمْ مَا يَكُونُ نَشْرُهُ عَلَيَّ عَاراً،

akhfī ʿanhum mā yakūnu nashruhu ʿalayya ʿāran

Conceal from them everything whose unfolding would shame me

---

وَاطْوِ عَنْهُمْ مَا يُلْحِقُنِي عِنْدَكَ شَنَاراً،

waṭwi ʿanhum mā yulḥiqunī ʿindaka shanāran

and roll up before them all which would join me to disgrace with Thee!

---

شَرِّفْ دَرَجَتِي بِرِضْوَانِكَ،

sharraf darajati bi ridhwanika

Ennoble my degree through Thy good pleasure,

---

وَأكْمِلْ كَرَامَتِي بِغُفْرَانِكَ،

wa-akmil karāmatī bi-ghufrānik

perfect my honour through Thy forgiveness,

---

وَانْظِمْنِي فِي أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ،

wa anzimni fi ashabil yameen

rank me among the companions of the right hand,

---

وَوَجِّهْنِي فِي مَسَالِكِ الآمِنِينَ،

wa wajjihni fi masalikil amineen

direct me to the roads of the secure,

---

وَاجْعَلْنِي فِي فَوْجِ الْفَائِزِينَ،

wa-jaʿalnī fī fawj al-fāʾizīn

place me in the throng of the triumphant,

---

وَاعْمُرْ بِي مَجَالِسَ الصَّالِحِينَ،

wāʿmur bī majālis aṣ-ṣāliḥīn

and through me let the sessions of the righteous thrive!

---

آمِينَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ .

ʾāmīn rabbi al-ʿālamīn

Amen, Lord of the worlds!
