بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

bismillahi alrrahmani alrrahimi

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

---

اَللَّهُمَّ يَا مَلاذَ ٱللَّائِذِينَ

allahumma ya maladha alla'idhina

O Allah, O Shelter of the shelter-seekers!

---

وَيَا مَعَاذَ ٱلْعَائِذِينَ

wa ya maaadha ala'idhina

O Refuge of the refuge-seekers!

---

وَيَا مُنْجِيَ ٱلْهَالِكينَ

wa ya munjiya alhalikina

O Deliverer of the perishing!

---

وَيَا عَاصِمَ ٱلْبَائِسِينَ

wa ya `asima alba'isina

O Preserver of the pitiful!

---

وَيَا رَاحِمَ ٱلْمَسَاكِينَ

wa ya rahima almasakini

O Merciful toward the miserable!

---

وَيَا مُجِيبَ ٱلْمُضْطَرِّينَ

wa ya mujiba almudtarrina

O Responder to the distressed!

---

وَيَا كَنْزَ ٱلْمُفْتَقِرِينَ

wa ya kanza almuftaqirina

O Treasure of the utterly poor!

---

وَيَا جَابِرَ ٱلْمُنْكَسِرِينَ

wa ya jabira almunkasirina

O Mender of the broken!

---

وَيَا مَأْوَىٰ ٱلْمُنْقَطِعِينَ

wa ya ma'wa almunqati`ina

O Haven of the cut off!

---

وَيَا نَاصِرَ ٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ

wa ya nasira almustad`afina

O Helper of the abased!

---

وَيَا مُجِيرَ ٱلْخَائِفِينَ

wa ya mujira alkha'ifina

O Granter of sanctuary to the fearful!

---

وَيَا مُغِيثَ ٱلْمَكْرُوبِينَ

wa ya mughitha almakrubina

O Aide of the troubled!

---

وَيَا حِصْنَ ٱللَّاجِئِينَ

wa ya hisna allaji'ina

O Fortress of the refugees!

---

إِنْ لَمْ أَعُذْ بِعِزَّتِكَ فَبِمَنْ أَعُوذُ

in lam adh biizzatika fabiman a`udhu

If I seek not refuge in Your might, in whom shall I seek refuge?

---

وَإِنْ لَمْ أَلُذْ بِقُدْرَتِكَ فَبِمَنْ أَلُوذُ

wa in lam aludh biqudratika fabiman aludhu

If I seek not shelter in Your power, in whom shall I seek shelter?

---

وَقَدْ أَلْجَأَتْنِي ٱلذُّنُوبُ إِلَىٰ ٱلتَّشَبُّثِ بِأَذْيَالِ عَفْوِكَ

wa qad alja'atni adhdhunubu ila attashabbuthi bi-adhyali `afwika

Sins have made me seek asylum in laying hold on the skirts of Your pardon,

---

وَأَحْوَجَتْنِي ٱلْخَطَايَا إِلَىٰ ٱسْتِفْتَاحِ أَبْوَابِ صَفْحِكَ

wa ahwajatni alkhataya ila istiftahi abwabi safhika

offenses have compelled me to beg the opening of the doors of Your forgiveness,

---

وَدَعَتْنِي ٱلْإِسَاءَةُ إِلَىٰ ٱلْإِنَاخَةِ بِفِنَاءِ عِزِّكَ

wa daatni al-isa'atu ila al-inakhati bifina'i izzika

evildoing has summoned me to dismount in the courtyard of Your might,

---

وَحَمَلَتْنِي ٱلْمَخَافَةُ مِنْ نَقِمَتِكَ عَلَىٰ ٱلتَّمَسُّكِ بِعُرْوَةِ عَطْفِكَ

wa hamalatni almakhafatu min naqimatika ala attamassuki biurwati `atfika

and fear of Your vengeance has prompted me to cling to the handhold of Your tenderness!

---

وَمَا أَحَقُّ مَنِ ٱعْتَصَمَ بِحَبْلِكَ أَنْ يُخْذَلَ

wa ma ahaqqu man i`tasama bihablika an yukhdhala

It is not right for him who holds fast to Your cord to be abandoned,

---

وَلاَ يَلِيقُ بِمَنِ ٱسْتَجَارَ بِعِزِّكَ أَنْ يُسْلَمَ أَوْ يُهْمَلَ

wa la yaliqu biman istajara bi`izzika an yuslama aw yuhmala

nor proper for him who seeks the sanctuary of Your might to be surrendered or disregarded.

---

إِلٰهِي فَلاَ تُخْلِنَا مِنْ حِمَايَتِكَ

ilahi fala tukhlina min himayatika

My God, empty us not of Your defending,

---

وَلاَ تُعْرِنَا مِنْ رِعَايَتِكَ

wa la turina min riayatika

strip us not of Your guarding,

---

وَذُدْنَا عَنْ مَوَارِدِ ٱلْهَلَكَةِ

wa dhudna `an mawaridi alhalakati

and protect us from the roads of destruction,

---

فَإِنَّا بِعَيْنِكَ وَفِي كَنَفِكَ وَلَكَ

fa inna bi`aynika wa fi kanafika wa laka

for we are in Your eye and under Your wing!

---

أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَهْلِ خَاصَّتِكَ

as'aluka bi-ahli khassatika

I ask You by those whom You have singled out,

---

مِنْ مَلائِكَتِكَ وَٱلصَّالِحِينَ مِنْ بَرِيَّتِكَ

min mala'ikatika wassalihina min bariyyatika

Your angels and the righteous among Your creatures,

---

أَنْ تَجْعَلَ عَلَيْنَا وَاقِيَةً

an tajala alayna waqiyatan

to assign over us a protector

---

تُنْجِينَا مِنَ ٱلْهَلَكاتِ

tunjina min alhalakati

through which You will deliver us from destructions,

---

وَتُجَنِّبُنَا مِنَ ٱلآفَاتِ

wa tujannibuna min al-afati

turn aside from us blights,

---

وَتُكِنُّنَا مِنْ دَوَاهِي ٱلْمُصِيبَاتِ

wa tukinnuna min dawahi almusibati

and hide us from the striking of great afflictions,

---

وَأَنْ تُنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ سَكِينَتِكَ

wa an tunzila `alayna min sakinatika

to send down upon us some of Your tranquility,

---

وَأَنْ تُغَشِّيَ وُجُوهَنَا بِأَنْوَارِ مَحَبَّتِكَ

wa an tughashshiya wujuhana bi-anwari mahabbatika

to wrap our faces in the lights of love for You,

---

وَأَنْ تُؤْوِيَنَا إِلَىٰ شَدِيدِ رُكْنِكَ

wa an tu'wiyana ila shadidi ruknika

to give us haven in Your strong pillar,

---

وَأَنْ تَحْوِيَنَا فِي أَكْنَافِ عِصْمَتِكَ

wa an tahwiyana fi aknafi `ismatika

and to gather us under the wings of Your preservation!

---

بِرَأْفَتِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ

bira'fatika wa rahmatika

By Your clemency and Your mercy!

---

يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

ya arhama arrahimina

O Most Merciful of the merciful!
